What is Jajim fabric?

Jajim is a type of fabric woven with Alvan spun wool, sometimes thin cotton thread is used in its weft. This fabric is woven from delicate and colored cotton, wool or a combination of these two threads. Because Jajim threads do not have lint, this fabric can be used on both sides.
The colors used in Jajim are usually traditional and vegetable, which gives this fabric about 6 to 8 different colors. The designs woven in it are also simple and with regular geometry and according to traditional Iranian designs, which are usually woven in the form of stripes or stars.

Types of Jajim

If we are going to divide Jajim into different types, the difference between the different types is only in the colors used, the delicacy of the threads and the geometric shapes in which it is woven. For example, Isfahan Jajim is produced in 10 designs, the most famous of which are diamond, brick, square, seven and eight. Because Isfahan Jajim is lighter, they use a laminated coating to make it more resistant. Laminates make the fabric stronger and moisture resistant. Laminate is made with different materials. These materials include: spunbond fabric, waterproof materials, felt and foam.

- Jajim laminate with spunbond fabric is the most common type.

- Waterproof materials used for laminate Jajim is used, it is polyethylene which completely waterproofs the fabric and gives high quality to the fabric.

- Laminate with felt is done in a limited way, but it gives a certain softness to the fabric.

- Laminate with foam has recently become popular in the market. This item is used to produce all kinds of bags, especially flask bags.
