These onions have a very long shelf life. should be stored in a cool and dark place. For this reason, it is available in the market in all seasons. Sweet onion
This onion is originally American and was first cultivated in the southeast region of Georgia. This type is sweet, crispy and juicy and has a slightly spicy taste. Because of its sweet and sugary taste, it is perfect for making caramelized onions. Also, large Vidalia onions are a very good choice for making fried onion rings.
Red onion
This is a beautiful colored variety with a purple-red velvet covering and a white core. Because of its mild and sweet taste, it is the best option to consume raw. Red onions have more flavonoids and fiber than white and yellow onions. Because of its beautiful color, you can use it to decorate a food plate, it is also a good choice for grilling, salads and sandwiches. These onions are available in the market in all seasons of the year and you can easily store them at room temperature for 3 to 4 months.
White onion
This onion has a completely white skin and a mild and cool taste. The difference between white and yellow types is that white onions are sweeter and have a shorter shelf life than yellow onions. In general, the white and red types have a shorter lifespan than yellow onions because they have more sugar. In terms of use, they are almost like red onions, they can be eaten raw or used in salads and dips. This onion is the best option for Mexican dishes. Pear -shaped onion
These onions are small and sweet and have a special and delicious taste. There are white, yellow and red colors in the market, but white color is more common.
