Balance weights are divided into several types based on the material used to make them. Each of them differs from each other in terms of dimensions and mass in addition to the type of building materials. In the following, we have examined each of the types of balance weights.
Metal elevator weights
These types of balance weights are made of metals such as iron or other metals and placed inside a steel frame. Then, using a press machine, these weights are fixed next to each other so that they do not separate from each other. After these metal weights are firmly placed next to each other, they are locked to each other using screws. After doing this, they draw a metal coating on the frame and its weights to make them uniform. Metal weights are designed and manufactured in the dimensions of 57, 67, 77, 87 and 97 cm, which can be considered the most standard and suitable dimensions.

Lead elevator weight
Lead weights have a high density compared to other types. High density makes them occupy a smaller volume by having a lot of mass. These weights are also designed and produced in different dimensions depending on the type of elevator, and customers can choose the appropriate model according to the type of building and elevator.
Concrete elevator weights
Concrete weights can be considered the oldest elevator weights, which are divided into two models. The first type are weights that have a plastic cover. But the second type of these weights are produced with a coating of galvanized sheets. Concrete weights are designed and manufactured in different dimensions such as 57, 67, 77, 87, 97 and 107 cm, which are used according to the type of elevator and the dimensions of the installation site.
Galvanized lift weights
Plastic weights are cheaper than other weights. But due to new standards, these weights are no longer used in elevators. For this reason, galvanized weights have been replaced by plastic weights in most cases. Galvanized weights are placed inside a steel frame. Then they are connected and secured with screws. At the end, this frame is covered with a galvanized coating. Galvanized weights with different dimensions are made according to different types of elevators.
