What is Protein?
Why is protein very important?
Just like fats and complex carbohydrates, protein is considered a "high consumption food element" from the experts' point of view. Your body needs a significant amount of protein daily to function properly. Although we are able to store fat and carbohydrates in our body, we are not actually able to store protein. This means that the protein you consume is not stored, and you must increase your protein levels in order to stay healthy.

Protein forms a part of every cell in the body. It may be hard for you to believe, but your hair and nails are primarily made of protein molecules. Adequate consumption of protein will help your nails stay beautiful and strong and your hair will be full and beautiful. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. For example, when you work out, the physical strain creates small tears in your muscles and tissues. Protein is responsible for healing and rebuilding these small tears. Protein increases the production of enzymes, hormones and other essential chemicals in your body. For example, amino acids (the building blocks of protein) are responsible for making growth hormone in the human body. Protein is vital for bone growth, muscle growth, cartilage repair, skin health, and improved blood flow throughout the body.
