This solution has the ability to destroy bacteria, viruses, fungi and various parasites and prevents infection after skin wounds.

One of the cases where betadine should be used with more caution is open wounds. Be careful not to pour betadine on the wound in any way; Because this product contains active iodine that damages the cells and reduces the speed of wound healing and leads to skin spots after treatment. Use betadine only to disinfect around the wound. For this purpose, dip a sterile gauze in betadine and clean the skin around the wound with gentle strokes. This prevents infection. Some people put betadine directly on the wound, but keep in mind that this is completely wrong and destroys the healing skin cells.

Before circumcision, the desired area is disinfected with betadine to eliminate possible contamination. After the circumcision, the wound is cleaned with sterile betadine to reduce the possibility of infection by eliminating pathogenic agents. Anal ulcer, which is known as fissure, is a complication caused by various factors such as anal sex, chronic diarrhea and some diseases. Betadine is one of the compounds that will be useful for treating this wound. To treat anal fissure using betadine, fill a bathtub or a basin with lukewarm water and add a few drops of betadine to it; Then sit in this water and betadine solution for 15 minutes. Do this two to three times a day to heal the anal ulcer.

One of the cases where betadine solution is used is the wound caused by animal bites. For this purpose, first clean the wound with soap and water and then disinfect it with betadine. If the bite site bleeds, disinfecting the site will become more important. Note that the bites of some animals, such as dogs, require medical care such as injection.

♦️Given that betadine contains active iodine, it may cause allergic reactions in some people. If you are using betadine for the first time, first test a small amount on a part of the skin to make sure there is no skin sensitivity to this solution.
