What is cellulose?
Its scientific definition is that cellulose is a rich polysaccharide composed of thousands of glucose molecules.
Cellulose is the main component of the main wall and body of plants. Cellulose is one of the substances that the human body is unable to digest and expels in the same way. In other words, in the human intestine, cellulose acts as an insoluble fiber that can absorb water, thus making the stool bulkier. As we said, cellulose is not digested, but it can be broken down by beneficial bacteria in the large intestine into gases and short-lived fatty acids that can be absorbed. Cellulose is not a nutrient and necessary for the body, which means that you do not need to consume cellulose to have a healthy body.
