What is the difference between black sheet and oil sheet?

Black sheet is a sheet that is produced by hot rolling process and the sheets produced by cold rolling process are known as oiled sheet in the market. The difference between the price chart of black sheet and the price of oiled sheet is one of the most important differences of this product. . First of all, the difference between these two sheets comes from their production method; But usually the sheets produced by the hot rolling method are of lower quality than the steel produced by the cold rolling method.

Production sheets with the hot rolling process are immediately placed in the production process and therefore there is no need to reheat them. After production, when their temperature decreases, its volume also decreases. Therefore, it can be said that in black sheet, the amount of control to change the size and shape of steel is less compared to oil sheet.

The difference between the quality of the black sheet and the oil

The machines and production methods in the hot rolling process are highly developed so that the products obtained from hot rolling are of high quality and in terms of price, they are cheaper than the cold sheet. However, due to the high cost of the devices, the black sheet is only produced in standard shapes and sizes, which are in high demand. Products are produced in large sizes, hot sheet is used.

Products produced by cold rolling have a uniform surface and a quality coating. Rebars produced by cold rolling process have more hardness than rebars produced by hot rolling. Meanwhile, this process is reversed in the production of steel sheets and the amount of carbon in hot rolled sheets is higher and cold sheets are softer due to the annealing process. So black sheet has higher strength than oil sheet.

The use of black sheets and oil sheets

Hot rolling is usually used for large size products. The reason for this is that large products must have a different shape. Hot rolled sheets are used in factories as a raw material for the production of cold sheets. Cold rolling is usually used for smaller products that require higher durability and flexibility. Oil and galvanized sheets are usually used in building construction, auto parts, household appliances and furniture.
