A pilot plant is a designed device containing equipment that is used in a process. Pilot plants are designed on a smaller scale than the main process. This size may be even smaller depending on the existing conditions. For example, a process that involves the production and consumption of very valuable materials is made on a smaller scale. Pilot plants are made with various purposes such as:
