Filter press is a system used to separate solid particles from liquid and purification. After separation, suspended solid particles (suspension) are pressed in the form of a cake (flour). This device consists of a number of plates covered with fabric. The water extraction operation in this device is done by pressing these plates and the function of the filters. According to the way of working and extracting water from industrial and sanitary wastewater, it can be used in different environments and for different reasons.
Filter press is a common solid-liquid separation device. At the beginning of the 18th century, it was used in the production of chemicals, and it is still widely used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, paint, food, and environmental protection industries.
Panels covered with filter press fabric are pressed by hand or hydraulically and the separation operation is done with high efficiency. The force required to compress the plates in the filter press machine with hydraulic force is supplied by a hydraulic jack. Hydraulic jacks have different sizes and dimensions according to the number of plates and the size of the device.

When using a sludge landfill, sludge dewatering can greatly reduce sludge accumulation and reduce transportation costs. When composting sludge, dewatering the sludge can ensure smooth composting. Also, the general requirement during composting is that the sludge has a lower moisture content.
