Today, wall-mounted water heaters or so-called packages are the most widely used type of gas water heaters. The reason is simple, first of all, their spa never runs out and they are optimal in terms of energy consumption. But how does a wall water heater work?
How does a wall pack work?
A sensor detects the water flow when you open the hot water faucet. The igniter ignites the burner and heats the flowing water heat exchanger. Some packages have a second heat exchanger that slightly heats the incoming water using the heat of the outgoing gas. A thermostat controls the amount of gas going to the burner to maintain a predetermined temperature. Control System At the heart of most tankless water heaters ( package) an electronic control unit (ECU) is located. The ECU controls all functions of the water heater including temperature control, ignition, gas flow and modulation. And it's also responsible for safety, with a fire sensor and automatic gas shut-off that activates when there's a problem.
❇️ Getting Started
When you tap You open the water anywhere in the house, the water flow sensor connected to the ECU detects the water flow and the water heating process starts. Newer sensors also detect minimum current. Some models have a combustion fan that draws air in for the combustion process. At the same time, the ECU opens the gas flow and turns on the ignition. The igniter fires until the flame sensor detects a fire. When the burner does not ignite within a few seconds, the ECU cuts off the gas flow to prevent unsafe gas accumulation. . Because the water passes through a spiral path, the water receives the most heat possible from the walls of the exchanger. They use a burner.
This type of continuous flow water heater is known as a "package" model. Their advantage is their high energy efficiency, at the same time, they have a higher price than other models.

❇️ Temperature Control
Most packages have a preset maximum temperature at the factory. This is a safety precaution to prevent accidents. 50°C is common for domestic use.
Since the flow and temperature of the inlet water can vary, the ECU adjusts and adjusts the amount of burner gas by increasing or decreasing. This adjustment of the amount of gas and the intensity of the flame is what keeps the temperature of the water constant. This function is dependent on the temperature of the water entering and leaving the exchanger.
Some models have a temperature controller that allows the user to set the minimum factory preset temperature.
These controllers can Either they are on the package itself or they are connected to it far away from the package (for example, in the kitchen, room or bathroom). Some are even wireless and have special apps that allow control with smartphones. Turning off the gas, the package unit is connected to the house electricity. Also, some packages have a turbine that can generate and use electricity from the incoming water flow. Even some packages use a battery.
Packages with a turbine or battery have the advantage over other models that they can work when the power is out and you will have hot water.
The disadvantage of packages with turbines is that they are larger and more expensive in terms of dimensions than electric models.
