Engine bearing damage is one of the most important defects that can cause heavy damages if it is not paid attention to and fixed in time. Sometimes the amount of damage is so great that the engine is disabled and does not turn on anymore; In such cases, the work is over and the car engine must be completely disassembled and reassembled.
What is a bearing?
The bearing is actually a type of bearing in the form of a relatively thin metal sheet, which, while adjusting the slack of the crankshaft and connecting rods, ensures their smooth movement while the engine is on. are classified as moving; Fixed bearings are placed between the contact point of the crankshaft with the cylinder block and its stacks and adjust the vertical slack of the crankshaft relative to the body. The movable bearing is installed in a similar way at the contact point of the crankshaft and the handle of the connecting rods and adjusts the slack of the connecting rod relative to the crankshaft. Usually, one or two pairs of horseshoe-shaped bearing arms are also used to adjust the horizontal play of the crankshaft in internal combustion engines.
When the car engine is started, a thin layer of oil in the narrow space between the bearings. and the crankshaft is formed and causes the friction of these parts to disappear so that the crankshaft can continue its rotational movement easily and the car engine can continue to work.
What does bearing mean?

Any factor that causes deformation or damage to the bearings, so that the bearing sticks to the crankshaft or is too far away from it, the oil layer will no longer be able to properly fill the empty space between the two; In this situation, it is said that the engine has hit the bearing.
If the bearing comes into contact with the surface of the crankshaft and sticks to it, the movement of the engine (crankshaft rotation) will be heavy and eventually the engine will stop working. will fall If the bearings lose their standard thickness due to corrosion and wear and become too thin, the crankshaft can no longer continue to work without vibration, because its standard slack is lost and there is always a clicking sound during operation. A knocking or rattling sound is heard from the defective bearing area.
What is the cause of the bearing?
Any factor that causes the oil to not reach the bearings with sufficient intensity and quantity can cause damage to the engine bearings. Among them, factors such as: oil pump failure, excessive dirtiness of the engine oil and its filter should be considered. , the presence of impurities in the oil, water and mixing oil due to the burning of the cylinder head gasket or any other reason, lack of engine oil, etc.
Also, when the engine operating temperature increases too much If this overheating is not resolved quickly, eventually the increase in heat will lead to excessive volume expansion of the crankshaft and bearings, and the empty space between them, which must be filled by a thin layer of oil, will disappear. Therefore, the crankshaft cannot continue its rotational movement according to the usual routine, and this issue will eventually disable the engine.
