What is shielding?

Bumpers are designed to protect the structure of the car, as they are often the first part of the car to absorb any impact in a collision. Saeed's bumper technicians are trained in car bumper repair to restore these vital parts to their pre-accident condition. Our team carefully performs all appropriate repairs for each bumper and refinishes your bumper to remove any signs of dents, scratches, dings or dents. Many plastic bumper parts can be repaired, especially the bumper cover which is usually damaged in the car.

Types of shields

Bumpers are produced in two types, metal and polymer, according to the purpose of car manufacturing and its use in society. In the construction of personal car bumpers that are suitable for urban use, polymer composites are used to make the bumper and usually several layers of fiber. Glass that increases its resistance is used. Fiberglass shield has more flexibility and can be easily shaped. In the construction of metal shields, metal composites are used, which have a higher degree of hardness than fiberglass and are suitable for cars outside the city. Metal shields do not have much place in the automotive industry today due to their heavy weight and high manufacturing cost, besides, they are more difficult to repair. In the production of inner-city cars, the use of fiberglass bumpers is more widespread. The car bumper is a part of the front of the car that protects the body and frame of the car from impacts. The construction and design of bumpers has faced many changes in the past years, and the designers of the car industry have increased the role of the bumper by observing the aerodynamic points in the construction of the car bumper. They have been used to reduce the impact and pressure caused by road bumps.

Car bumper repair steps

First step:

First, we examine the entire shield and measure its repair potential. The second step: After a complete inspection of the bumper, we will separate it from the car body and check the broken place from the inner surface. Then, we first connect the two sides of the crack or fracture with a wire so that the welding process can be done more easily. In this process, we use plastic welding to glue the two sides of the crack together. Consider that welding plastic produces a lot of heat; Therefore, the welding environment should be considered completely safe. In this process, the edges of both sides of the fracture are melted and stuck together using high heat.

The third step: After the shield has cooled, it is time to use chemicals to strengthen the cracked area. At this stage, the broken area is covered using super strong adhesives, and then an attempt is made to strengthen the entire damaged area using melted fiberglass. Then the shield is placed in a clean place without excess particles to dry slowly. Fourth step:

After the overall structure and body of the shield is stable, it is time for sanding. At this stage, Saeed's shield experts sand the inside and outside of the shield using buffer devices. The sanding process is done in several stages and different sanding materials are used in different parts. Consider that at this stage, both the inside and the outer shell of the shield are sanded so that the whole body can be restored in a stable and one-handed manner.

The fifth step: After the overall repair of the car bumper structure, it is mounted on the body to ensure the correctness of the repair process. Then the damaged area on the outer shell of the shield is painted, and after that, the polishing process is performed on the entire shield to remove all the remaining dirt and stains and to make the color of the shield uniform with the original standard color.
