Styles of writing on silver
There are three main styles of calligraphy in Iran, which are:
Shiraz
Tabriz
Isfahan
In the style of Shiraz calligraphy, there are two methods of fine pen which are on metal (copper ) and (rice) were common in the Safavid and Zandiya periods and before that, and embossed or inlaid, which is done in the Qajar period with a vector pattern from the Achaemenid style until now. It is mostly done on silver. This is how it works. After the design on the work and cutting it in half, the highlighting and flooring is started, and in this style, Achaemenid and Sassanid motifs and flower petals are mostly used. And in Iran, this style is called the Shiraz school and is unique to Shiraz. In the Tabriz style, movement and pressure of the wrist are used to move the pen and to perform penmanship, and in the Isfahan style, hammer blows are used. For this reason, the pen of Tabriz is smooth and shallow, but the pen of Isfahan is deeper. style in recent years. Embossed brushwork has deeper ridges and creates a three-dimensional state. This type of pen is used in the construction of Shia imam shrines.
