Introduction of elevator types

Traction elevator

The elevators used in Iran are mostly traction type. Traction elevators have a sheave (pulley) on top of them, the way it works is based on the friction force that occurs between the tow wires connected to the cabin and the traction sheave of the engine. This plate is located on the elevator motor and the towing system around it, which is connected to the elevator cabin on one side and to the elevator weight frame on the other side, when the motor plate moves, the elevator cabin moves up or down. The elevator cabin is suspended in the elevator well, which is called the elevator suspension system.

Hydraulic lift

Moving the cabin in hydraulic elevators is done by a lifting jack, which is a type of jack and a hydraulic motor (oil) that the motor is not placed on the top of the elevator shaft, the type of elevator will only be responsive up to 5 or 6 floors. The three-phase hydraulic motor of the elevator is immersed in oil and has an electric valve called Power Unit, which transfers the oil to the jack, while the electricity consumption of hydraulic elevators is very low.
