How the centrifugal fan works

The working mechanism of the centrifugal fan is such that the incoming air enters the centrifugal fan parallel to the rotation axis of the propeller and will go towards the surroundings of the propeller, tips and wings with this movement of kinetic energy with the air flow. It is mixed and the intensity of the air flow increases as the movement slows down before entering the static pressure discharge path. During this process, the kinetic energy and static pressure of the air increases. The air entering the fan will rotate under the influence of the torque of the center to leave it. The remarkable thing about the performance of the centrifugal fan is that the speed and volume of the air in these fans are constant, but the mass of the air changes based on its density. In a simpler way, it can be said that the ambient air in the centrifugal fan enters the fan from the inlet. It rotates 90 degrees in the propeller part, then accelerates due to centrifugal force. Finally, it flows on the fan blades and exits the fan chamber.

In addition to ventilation and air transfer, the centrifugal fan is usually used to draw air through heat exchangers. The air created by the propeller of these fans has the ability to confront and overcome the resistance in the air.

The centrifugal fan uses the kinetic energy created by the propellers to move the air flow. This issue makes the created air flow have the ability to move against the resistance caused by channels, dampers and other components. Also, the movement of the air flow is done radially by the centrifugal fan, and the direction of the air flow also changes.
