What is a blade block?
Building blocks are produced in different types, each of which is used in a specific place based on its characteristics. The blade block is one of these types of blocks which, as the name implies, is used for blade picking. The blades separate the interior space of the building and no weight is applied to them (they are non-load bearing). As a result, blocks that are thin and light in weight and do not need to be highly resistant to pressure are used to implement the blades.

Blade block has exactly all these characteristics. These blocks have low weight and low resistance, and since they are not applied to the load blade, these features will not be a problem; And instead, they reduce the amount of dead load of the building by using light blocks. Also, the thickness of the blade block is low, and this makes them take up less space in the interior of the building.
Types of blade blocks
Blade blocks are made in different types. These blocks can either be a bladed clay block or a bladed cement block. The cement bladed block itself can be classified in different aspects.
Block thickness: The thickness of blade blocks is low. These blocks are generally either 5 to 7 cm thick or 7 to 10 cm thick.

Number of walls: The blade block can also be classified based on the number of walls; Based on this, they are divided into double-walled and three-walled blade blocks.
Appearance: Blade blocks are produced in various shapes. They have masculinity or femininity in two forms based on the convexity or depression of the side of the block.
Construction material: To make a blade block, like other light blocks, pumice is used instead of sand. These pumice can be either mineral pumice (like the mineral pumice of Qorveh and Tabriz) or industrial pumice.
Application of blade block
They are used to make blades. These blocks are a very suitable option for separating the interior spaces of the building such as bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. However, in the building standards, different uses have been determined, based on the type of use, the appropriate block should be used. For example, in topic 18 of the National Building Regulations, it is stipulated that for educational spaces and hotels, materials should be used that are sound insulation, in accordance with the prescribed requirements. But in the case of spaces such as commercial centers, simpler standards have been considered for this reason. As a result, in order to choose a suitable block for cutting blades, one should also pay attention to the use of space.
Blade block feature
The unique characteristics of blade blocks have led to their widespread use for making blades. These features include:
Low specific weight
One of the most important features of the blade block is its light weight. The low weight of the bladed blocks makes the dead load of the building not increase so much and less damage occurs during an earthquake.
Insulation
Another feature of the blade block is its insulation against heat. Several factors affect the insulation level of these blocks. The industrial or mineral pumice used in the construction of the block, as well as the holes between it, are factors that cause insulation.
sound insulation
As well as insulating against heat, the blade block is also insulating against sound. And its sound insulation feature is affected by various factors.
Grooving ability
The blade block can be grooved. This means that in case of grooves, this product will not have much deviation.
Low shrinkage
Blocks shrink after drying. If their shrinkage rate is more than allowed, the block will crack. As for the blade block, their shrinkage is within the standard range and if they are made by a reputable manufacturer, they will not have any problems.
Low water absorption
If the water absorption rate of the blocks is high, they will absorb the water of the mortar and cause the mortar to not reach the required resistance and as a result the resistance of the wall will be low. Also, if water absorption is high, plastering on the wall will have problems.
The method of implementing the blade block
The execution of the blade block is done in the same way as the wall with cement block will be To implement the blade, consider the length of the blade, its height and the thickness of the block, use the appropriate mortar, soak the blocks in water before implementing the blade, pay attention to the amount and level of the openings and their location, to implement the wall post Pay attention to the articles of the 2800 regulation and finally wet the executed blade twice a day 3 to 5 days after completion.
