Building sewage components and facilities

The sewage system of a building starts from the place where the used water is removed from sanitary devices and continues until these waters leave the building. During this route, there are various sections and parts, each of which has a specific role in the operation of discharging and transferring sewage.

The main components of the building sewage system

Sewage facilities are actually for collecting, transferring and directing sewage from inside the building to the public sewer network of the city. The following components play an effective role in this system:

Sewage pipes

These pipes are used as the main lines for transporting sewage. These pipes can be installed horizontally and vertically in the system. Vertical pipes are known as "risers". And the horizontal pipes are also divided into two categories:

- Horizontal pipes that are connected to the riser from the siphons.
- The central horizontal pipe that starts from the end of the riser and continues to the exit of the building.

Vent pipes or vents

Sewage is not only composed of water and solid materials. There are gases with an unpleasant smell in them. Vent pipes allow these gases to exit the system and prevent them from entering the building space. These pipes also have features that ensure a better performance of the siphon and make it easier to drain the sewage. They have a siphon. This part is the first part where the sewage enters. Its simple U-shaped design makes water get stuck in it and prevents smelly gases. By means of a siphon and using vent pipes, these gases are released, so that the space of the building is not polluted.

Implementation Techniques in Wastewater Facilities

When it comes to sewage installations, there are two prominent ways to implement plumbing:

- Floor plumbing: This method is very popular among builders due to its age.
- Plumbing From the ceiling: This method is newer and has been used more in recent years. But like any new technology, it has its own advantages and challenges. For example, the ceiling method, although it goes at a slower speed, but the access to the pipes is easier and the cost management is more.
