Getting to know the French wrench or adjustable wrench
I have not been able to find out the reason for the name of France on this wrench, but the only possibility that is more likely than the others is that it is most likely that this wrench entered our country for the first time. In any case, this wrench is called Crescent Wrench in English. I was going to review this wrench in the post related to wrenches, but considering that the use of this wrench is very high, I decided to review it in a separate post.

Well, naturally, these wrenches are offered in one model and do not have any special variety, but the designers of this type of wrench have made good changes in its appearance, which has made the use of this wrench very easy. In terms of sizing, this wrench is sized in inches, which is available in the Iranian market from 6 inches to 20 inches. The suitable size for home use is 12 to 16 inches. Recently, a graduated ruler has been installed on the movable jaw of this wrench, which is in millimeters in most cases. The good thing about this ruler is that you can set the wrench without trial and error by knowing the size of the screw. Perhaps the most important advantage of this work is the increase in work speed.
Important points in choosing a French wrench
1) A French wrench is a very useful tool in your toolbox. Consider a good budget in buying it. 2) Recently, these wrenches are equipped with silicone handles, which naturally makes working with them much easier. 3) The body of the wrench must be chromium-vanadium. 4) The French wrench has an adjustment screw, when buying, note that the ribs on the adjustment screw are deep. There should also be grooves on the ribs to prevent the hand from slipping on the adjustment screw. The greater the depth of the ribs, the less likely the wrench will be out of adjustment during work. 5) Some of the French wrenches in the market have grips in their jaws. If you search a little more closely, you can find them in the market.
Note: The smaller the size of your French wrench, the lower its torque will be.
