Learning how to clean car carpets is essential for car maintenance. Every time someone gets into your vehicle, they probably leave a small trail of dirt, sand, mud, or sand with them. All these wastes will end up on your car mat. That being said, it is very important to know how to effectively clean car mats, whether cloth or rubber!
If there is a significant mess, you should wash your mattresses as soon as possible. Otherwise, a quick monthly cleaning is sufficient. Today, we're sharing tips on the best way to clean car mats and keep your car looking great!
Before you clean your car mats
When you start cleaning your car mats, it's best to remove them completely from the car! Dealing with dirt and stains outside the car is much easier. While the mats are out, we recommend giving your car a good vacuum.

How to clean car carpets
Cloth car mats are usually made of nylon fibers and covered with a water-resistant backing. Available in a variety of finishes and thicknesses, woven machine rugs can come in a variety of shapes. It is very important to clean your car mats, especially cloth mats, because the cloth may have dirt, food residue, bacteria or other things built up.
< b > 1. Shake and Vacuum
First you need to shake your machine rug. This helps them get rid of as much dirt and loose debris as possible before cleaning.
After shaking each mattress, place them flat on the floor. Vacuum each mattress well, making sure to grab both sides.
2. Add Baking Soda + Water
We recommend using baking soda and rubbing it on the cover to remove stains and unpleasant odors that may be present. You can mix some baking soda with water to clean the mat better. Take a stiff brush to wash/scrape off all dirt and grime.
3. Use soap
After using baking soda and scrubbing, you should use a soapy substance to thoroughly clean the carpet. There are several different ways you can do this.
One way is to use a cleaning spray. Do this by spraying carpet cleaner on each mat and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. This allows the mats to absorb the cleaning agents. Then, using a brush, put the cleaner on them.
4. Re-vacuum
With re-vacuum, it sucks some of the remaining water and dirt particles.
5. Dry the mats thoroughly
Finally, hang your clean mats to dry or put them in the dryer. Do not put them in your car until they are completely dry, otherwise they will leave a musty smell.
How to clean rubber car mats
Be sure to give your tire a good vibration to begin with. We recommend even hitting them with the ground or another hard surface. If there is material that continues to stick, you may want to use a scraper to remove it.
2. Wash with a hose
Next, use a hose to wash the mattress to remove any loose debris.
3. Wash with soap
Add some soap to the mattresses using a cloth and spray. Dirt and grime should come off easily, but a wet wipe or baking soda mixture can also be effective.
4. Hose off
Wash off the soap with water.
5. Dry the mats
At this point, you can hang the mats over a fence, wire, or other fixture to air dry. Do not put the mattresses back into the car until they are completely dry.
