But in fact, no one knows carpets and carpets as well as us Iranians. In the past, all types of carpets were woven by the artists of Iran. But today, with the intervention of the machine, the texture of all types of carpets and rugs has become more industrial and modern. Carpets are based on several factors such as texture type, material, texture style, design, etc. They are divided into different types.
Carpet types are divided into two general categories based on the texture method:

Handwoven carpets can be repaired, and if they are subject to one of the factors of tearing, rotting, corrosion and abrasion, they can be easily repaired.
Types of carpets based on the design and type of texture
Hand-woven carpet: Hand-woven carpet, according to the knowledge that we Iranians have of the word carpet, is transformed into different types. The type of yarn, type of texture, area of texture, etc. are the factors that introduce a set of types of hand-woven carpets to the society.
Vintage: Vintage carpets are carpets that are newly woven but have the design of old worn carpets. They have a long life and are very attractive. In the past, handwoven carpets were called old. But today, vintage is a style of carpet weaving.
Gebeh: Gebeh is a type of carpet from the carpet family that has longer piles. Its design is usually created by the mind of the weaver. The number of its wefts is more than the carpet.
Carpets and rugs: A carpet is a type of carpet whose nap or pile height is often shorter than that of a machine-made carpet. The dimensions of the carpet can be the same or different from the carpet. A carpet with a smaller size than a carpet is called a rug.
Forty-piece carpet: Forty-piece carpet is a type of combined carpet that is created by cutting all kinds of carpets, rugs, rugs, etc. The forty-piece carpet style is a combination of the forty-piece embroidery art, which has many fans today.
Rug: Rug is a kind of underlay that has a very short thread and it can be said that it has no fluff. Usually, the material of the thread is fluff and wool interwoven. According to the region and culture in which the rug is woven, it is divided into different types.
The types of carpets based on sex
Carpets are woven with different fibers. Today, these fibers can be obtained naturally or synthetically. In any case, the type of fibers, especially natural fibers, is different for all types of handwoven carpets. Various factors such as warp, weft and pile (piles) of the carpet have an effect on the classification of the carpet. Carpets are divided into the following types based on the type:
Handwoven silk carpet: cream thread (wool) This type of carpet is made of silk.
All-silk carpet: All the weft and weft threads of silk carpets are made of silk.
Chele silk carpet: In Chele silk carpet, only the material of the carpet (chele) is silk.
Silk flower carpet: In the silk flower carpet, only part of the flowers and the design of the carpet are made of silk. The rest is not the knots and cream of the silk carpet.
Woolen carpet: In this type of carpet, it is a carpet whose pile is made of wool.
All-wool carpet: As the name of this carpet indicates, all the threads used in this carpet (piles, warp and weft) are made of wool.
Chale Pashm carpet: in Chale Pashm carpet, just like the silk type, only nine warps (chele) are made of wool yarn.
Fluffy carpet: The knotted thread and pile of fluffy carpet are obtained from goat hair.
Zarbaft carpet: Zarbaft carpet or Zarbaft carpet is a kind of prominent carpet whose main or lower part is mainly carpet. In the weaving of this part of the rug, warp threads are used, which is known as gold thread, and the so-called gold-plated carpet is woven with gold thread.
Souf carpet: The history of Souf carpet weaving is related to the city of Kashan. The thread of these carpets is a combination of golden and silver warp threads and silk.
The types of carpets based on the texture
All carpets consist of 3 types of yarn.
Thread (Cheleh): The thread of the cheleh is the skeleton of the carpet, it is tied vertically on the hanging and colored knots are tied on it.
Weft: After weaving each row of the carpet, it passes through the weft threads. Its task is to strengthen the threads and keep them stable.
Khab: Khab yarn refers to all the colored knots that show the shape and design of the carpet.
