Head or crown, ring grooves, body or skirt, surfaces or supports and finger hole are the main parts of the piston.

Crown or head

The crown or head is the upper part of the piston, which is shaped like a circle. Usually, this part of the piston is made in different shapes. You can see the types of crown or piston head in the figure below.

Ring grooves

Ring grooves are another part of the piston. In the tractor engine, the grooves are where the rims are placed. Usually, each piston has 3 to 5 ring grooves. The oil ring is the lowest groove. The ends of the grooves have holes that are used to enter the oil into the piston.

Support or column

This part is another part of the parts that make up the piston. The position of these edges is between the grooves and their function or supports is to keep and help support the rims inside the grooves.

Piston body or skirt

Piston body or skirt It is another part of the piston whose position is under the grooves.

Finger hole

Finger hole is another part of the tractor piston. The connecting rod is connected to the piston through this hole. The surfaces around the finger hole are very thick, which makes this part stronger and more resistant.
