Types of tankers or storage tanks

In various industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment and food processing, storage tanks play a vital role in the safe storage of materials. These tankers have different types, each designed for specific storage needs. Here is a more detailed overview of the types of storage repositories:

Fixed roof tanks

These tankers have a fixed roof that is often conical or dome-shaped and are designed to store liquids with low vapor pressure. They are usually used to store crude oil, refined petroleum products and water.

Floating roof tankers

Floating roof tanks are equipped with a floating roof that adjusts to the liquid level and reduces vapor space and evaporation losses. There are two types of floating tanks which are external floating roof tank (EFR) and internal floating roof tank (IFR). They are suitable for liquids with higher vapor pressure such as gasoline and diesel fuel.

Horizontal tanks
Horizontal tanks are ideal for storing liquids with low vapor pressure such as water and chemicals. These tankers are efficient in space and are usually used when space is limited.

pressure tanks (high pressure tanks)

To store liquids or gases at high pressures, cylindrical tankers are usually designed with a resistant wall to withstand the pressure. These tankers are widely used in industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals and electricity production.

Vertical tanks

Vertically oriented tanks are usually used to store liquids with low vapor pressure, such as water and chemicals. Using a vertical tanker helps to save space and is a good option when you are faced with a lack of space.

LNG (liquefied natural gas) tanks

LNG tanks are specialized tanks for storing liquefied natural gas at a very low temperature of about -160 degrees Celsius. These tankers are often spherical or cylindrical, insulated to maintain low temperatures, and are critical in the natural gas industry for LNG storage and transportation.
