It was invented by a man named Manuel Garcia. The larynx is an important part that makes our voice come out of it. The laryngoscope is made of a handle and a blade. The blade of the laryngoscope is flat and bent.
A small blade is used for children. There is a small bulb on the blade of the laryngoscope. In some laryngoscopes, there is a small camera with which they look at the patient's larynx.
Some laryngoscopes also have a small lamp with which they treat the patient's throat.
Using a laryngoscope, the patient's throat can be observed and intubation can be performed. There are two types of laryngoscopes, hard and flexible laryngoscopes.
To see larynxes that are hard, they use a laryngoscope to see its vocal tract. This device is made of a long tube with a light and a blade on it. The type of laryngoscope operation is painful and the patient is anesthetized.
This device has three different types of blades:
Curved shape blade, flat head blade (Miller), curved tip blade.
Miller blade saw is mostly used for children.
Types of laryngoscope names:
1. Fiber optic laryngoscope, this operation takes about a minute and the person is awake. It is used once
2. Istrag laryngoscopy which is done only once
3. Laryngoscopes are found in hospitals and medical centers.
A few points should be observed after tube placement:
Don't eat solid things for at least three hours, avoid heavy consumption, don't talk loudly, the patient should rest for three weeks.
If you see problems such as eating, coughing up blood, Ear and mouth pain, bad breath, hoarseness, not having easy breathing, etc. The doctor will allow you to have a laryngoscope operation. The result of not getting a response from the laryngoscope operation with redness, throat cancer, infection and bleeding. .
