🔘 Oak
Oak (in English: Oak) and (scientific name: Quercus), (Kurdish to riۊ to Lori Bali or Balit) is the name of a family of trees of the Rashi family and also their fruit. Oak trees have a long life that sometimes reaches two thousand years.
🔘 Oak reproduction
The natural reproduction of this tree is done by planting its fruit. The rodents of the squirrel family bury the oak fruit at a suitable depth to store it for the winter season. Forgetting the place of some of these fruits by the squirrels will cause them to sprout the following spring. These rodents cause continuous reproduction of oak forests. Squirrels instinctively choose the most resistant seeds to bury, and therefore the probability of the fruit remaining healthy under the soil and sprouting the following year increases.

✔️ Oak fruit: contains starch, protein, various sugars, especially quercetin, oily substance and finally tannin. ✔️ Oak leaf and bark: It has a special tannin called quercetin tannic acid soluble in water, a kind of sugar called quercetin, glaze, a red substance called oak red.
🔘 Oak therapeutic application
The tannin found in the oak fruit, which is called "shock" in some local languages of the country, is used in the treatment of stomach ulcers and swelling by strengthening the gastric mucosa, and it can be useful in the early healing of wounds and bleeding and the treatment of diarrhea. The parts of the oak tree that are used therapeutically are the fruit, bark, bark and leaves.
🔘 Oral use of oak
Oak fruit in the north and south of Iran as well as its different species are different in terms of food. But the results of the analysis of the hair of North Iranian oak along with its shell showed that it contains 11% fat, 11.5% fiber, 2630 kcal/kg of energy and has 18.5% protein. In different parts of the country where there are oak forests, oak bread is prepared by grinding oak fruit. Due to the high cost of animal feed, ranchers collect oak seeds in the fall and give them to the animals as an alternative feed in the winter, which is beneficial for the health of the animals in addition to its many nutritional properties.
🔘 Other applications
The seeds, leaves and bark of the oak tree are used in pharmaceuticals, dyeing (as one of the natural dyes), inking and leather industry. Oak wood is very strong and is used for making tools or burning. Some species of oak are planted as ornamental trees, and the leaves of some species such as yew are used as a biological pest control in gardens and greenhouses.
