Galvanized sheets are mainly made of iron or steel, which are covered with a layer of zinc metal in different hot and cold galvanizing methods. Most of these sheets are made of steel. Steel is actually an alloy of iron and carbon.
The reason for using steel in the production of galvanized sheets is that the properties of welding, cutting and flexibility of steel are greater than iron and for this reason it can be used in more applications and industries. be used.
The types of galvanized sheets in terms of thickness, size and shape
Different factories producing galvanized sheets produce these types of sheets with different thicknesses. For example, the average thickness of these sheets is between 0.25 and 2.5 mm. Also, the coating of galvanized sheets can be different from each other. Coating is actually a layer of zinc metal that is on the galvanized sheet. The more coating a sheet has, the better its quality and the more resistant it is to harsh environmental conditions.
The amount of coating in all kinds of galvanized sheets produced in Iran is between 80 and 150 grams per square meter and for imported sheets up to 200 grams per square meter.

Galvanized Types of Galvanization Type
The process of galvanizing galvanized sheets is done by two hot and cold galvanizing methods and can cause different features and qualities in sheet production. In the following, we will introduce the types of hot and cold galvanized sheets.
Hot-dip galvanized sheet
In this method, steel sheets are immersed in a bath of molten zinc metal, and the entire surface of the sheet is covered by zinc metal. This method is economical and can cause high resistance of steel against unfavorable environmental factors. You should pay attention to the fact that performing the hot dip galvanized process on the galvanized sheet requires cleaning, acid washing and degreasing of the sheet.
Cold galvanized sheet
This method is done by an electrolytic solution, which is also called the electroplating process. All types of galvanized sheets produced in this way have a more homogeneous and uniform coating; But the thickness of the coating surface is thinner compared to the hot galvanized method.
Pre-Galvanization Method
Pre-Galvanization is a metal coating method in which metal parts are temporarily coated with a metal coating such as zinc or nickel to prevent corrosion. their rust and corrosion. This method is carried out in two steps: in the first step, the metal parts are cleaned and then immersed in a solution of nickel or zinc.
This stage is also known as pretreatment. In the second step, after coating, the metal parts are immersed in a solution of chromium or copper to form the final metal coating.
This method of metal coating can increase the resistance of metal parts against rust and corrosion. Also, pre-galvanization can be used as a temporary coating method for metal parts that are finally coated with the final galvanization method.
Galvanizing method
Galvanizing method is the process of galvanizing and then annealing black sheet and other types of steel sections. In fact, this method is created by creating a protective coating for the underlying material, and the steel becomes highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. In fact, the process of performing this galvanizing method is the same as the hot galvanizing method and does not cause any destructive effect on the steel surface.
