Types of galvanized sheet based on production method

Hot-dip galvanized sheet: Hot-dip galvanizing is the process of immersing steel sheets in a bath of molten zinc. During this process, first the steel sheets are heated to a temperature of 120 degrees Celsius in the furnace. A coating of zinc is then continuously passed over the steel sheets. The speed of passing zinc in this molten bath is equal to 180 meters per minute and its temperature is 450 degrees Celsius.
In this process, steel sheets are wrapped around an immersed roll and react with molten zinc metal and become this As a result, a sticky coating is created. At this stage, the plating process is finished and the sheets can be removed.
After the galvanized sheets are removed from the zinc bath, any excess molten zinc is cleaned from the surface of the sheets through air pressure. Then the galvanized sheets are cooled so that the coating on it is completely hard and uniform.

Cold galvanized sheet: Cold galvanized sheet is produced through the process of electric galvanization or in other words plating. In this method, zinc electrolytically creates a coating on steel sheets. Because in the cold method, the temperature is not applied to the sheets as much as in the hot galvanizing method, the term cold galvanizing has become popular for it. The structure of the steel sheet does not change. The advantage of the cold method is the controllability of the thickness of the zinc coating created on the sheets. On the contrary, the limitation of the cold method is that it is not possible to achieve thicker zinc coatings due to the low temperature.

Differences between galvanized sheet and other steel sheets

Galvanized coating: The main and outstanding difference of galvanized sheet is its coating. The galvanized sheet is covered with a layer of zinc metal that adheres to the original sheet and protects it. This galvanized coating makes the sheet better resistant to rust and corrosion. Corrosion resistance: one of the most important differences in galvanized sheet Compared to other steel sheets, its corrosion resistance is higher. The galvanized coating makes the sheet resistant to corrosion even when exposed to high humidity and atmospheric factors. Galvanized is used in many types of industries and applications due to its high corrosion and rust resistance. Among its common uses, we can mention the construction of metal structures, automotive industries, agricultural equipment, construction industries, and even in the production of outdoor equipment that are exposed to atmospheric factors.

< p>Resistance against rust: Normal steel sheets are exposed to rust and corrosion. This happens especially when the sheet is in contact with moisture and polluted air. The galvanized sheet offers the best resistance to rust due to the galvanized coating.

What is meant by the useful life of galvanized sheet?

The service life of galvanized sheet is significantly affected by various factors, including the quality of the primary material, environmental conditions and its final use. Nevertheless, galvanized sheets usually have a long service life and high durability due to features such as high resistance to corrosion and rust. In cases where high-quality galvanized sheets are used and in environmental conditions that require corrosion resistance, they can function optimally for several decades or even more. In addition, galvanized sheets maintain corrosion resistance due to the presence of a galvanized coating (zinc coating) applied to the parent material as long as the coating is intact. Therefore, with proper maintenance and monitoring of the galvanized coating, galvanized sheets can have a longer useful life and in some cases even be used for several decades in different environments.

What are the factors affecting the price of galvanized sheet?

The price of galvanized sheet depends on various factors that have a direct effect on its formation. One of the most important factors affecting the price of this product is the quality of the manufacturing plant. Factories with modern equipment and the use of advanced technologies have the ability to produce high-quality galvanized sheet, which directly adds to the final price of this product. The thickness of the galvanized sheet is also an important factor in determining its price. Customers usually prefer to use sheets with the desired thickness and a wider selection, which also has a significant impact on the final cost. Currency fluctuations are also considered as one of the important factors in the price changes of galvanized sheets. These fluctuations can be caused by global economic factors and changes in currency markets, which directly affect the production cost of galvanized sheets. In general, the interaction between these effective factors in determining the price of galvanized sheet shows the complexity of the market and the mutual influence of these factors on each other.
