Types of First Aid
In an emergency, first aiders provide the necessary care to the injured, perhaps before paramedics arrive to provide medical care. Anyone trained in first aid can provide this basic care – it may even save a life. Since different emergencies require completely different actions, what are the types of first aid you should know?
1. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Those trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can help a victim of cardiac arrest to breathe again. CPR first consists of checking that the person's airway is clear, then using rescue breathing and chest compressions to maintain blood circulation.

2. Bleeding
Prevention of wound bleeding is very important to prevent blood loss. You need to be able to identify the type of bleeding to determine its severity and know when a person needs medical attention.

3. Burns
To treat a burn, you must remove the source (whether heat, chemicals, or electricity) and then cool the affected area with running water for a few minutes. do. Aloe vera and over-the-counter medications are helpful for minor burns, while major burns require immediate medical attention.
4 Suffocation
An obstruction that leads to suffocation can cut off a person's airway and lead to unconsciousness or even death. It is important to recognize if someone is choking and needs help. In addition, you need to know what method is appropriate to use. For example, you should use the Heimlich maneuver when someone is unable to cough or speak but is still conscious. However, the appropriate first aid for someone who is unconscious is different.

5. Broken Bones
To prevent further damage, you should always treat any injury to a limb, arm, or leg as if it were a broken bone. If the fracture is not open, the person is alert, there is no profuse bleeding, and the skin appears normal, apply a cold pack to the injury. You should also make a padded splint for the limb injury without trying to straighten the limb before going to the hospital. Broken bones of the spine, head, pelvis, hip and thigh are more severe and require emergency treatment. You should wait for an ambulance, as only a trained medical professional should move the casualty.
