One of the most important reasons for abandoning traditional faucets is the lack of water resources in many countries of the world. Traditional faucets waste a lot of water. For example, when setting the temperature by turning on the cold water, a lot of water is wasted, so that you can get the desired temperature by turning the hot water knob. Also, the speed of connecting and disconnecting the water flow is slow due to the rotary movement of the knobs, and the combination of these factors causes a large amount of water to be wasted.
Ceramic faucets
Ceramic faucets are single-handle type, which are also called lever faucets. Stopping and connecting the water flow is done by using the lever up and down. To adjust the water temperature, the valve lever must rotate to the right and left.
This type is also called a mixer valve. Because they are able to mix hot and cold water with only one lever due to having a ceramic plate. These ceramic discs are one fixed and the other is under the influence of a moving lever.

The difference between ceramic faucets and traditional types
In general, ceramic faucets require less maintenance in long-term use and are easier to maintain.
The main problem with traditional faucets, apart from water loss, is dripping. Because rubber washers are used in this type of valves. In fact, the water flow is established using this washer. If the gasket is damaged, it will leak quickly. The most important cause of damage to the washers is the rotation of the faucet handles, which usually causes the washer to wear out over time.
But this problem has been eliminated in ceramic faucets due to the presence of a cartridge or a ceramic disk. For this reason, there is no problem of water dripping in these faucets. This technology has made ceramic faucets have great flexibility to open and close the water flow. In addition, due to the fact that ceramic is harder than rubber, the rate of erosion of ceramic valves is less and they rarely need to be repaired.
