Silicon was discovered by Frederick Keeping. Silicone is a polymer that has interesting properties at very high and very low temperatures. This polymer is resistant to moisture, light, heat, cold and many chemicals. Silicone exists in liquid and rubber form.

According to the definition and applications of silicone, the use of silicone in the manufacture of spark plug wire makes the spark plug wire durable, resistant and strong against destructive factors inside the car engine.
High engine heat, various oils, water, antifreeze and acid are always present in the engine compartment. Silicone is resistant to almost all these destructive factors and will last longer.
Many of the materials used to make non-silicone candle wires are not resistant to these factors and will soon be destroyed and destroyed, causing electricity theft.
For this reason, silicone is used in making candle wire. In addition to resisting destructive factors inside the engine, silicon also protects the electric current inside the cable so that enough electricity for sparking reaches the spark plugs.

As you can see in the section of the layers of class F wire, these wires are made of 3 layers of silicon. The cap on the spark plug side and the cap on the coil side are made of silicone.
Class F cables are made in different thicknesses. The most used thicknesses in the Iranian market are 7mm and up to 8mm. Of course, the thickness has no effect on the quality of the wire and has a greater psychological burden on the consumer.
