Plastic containers are often produced in two other ways with the names of semi-forming and thermoforming. These two methods are the most common methods of producing disposable containers and some special containers such as vases and other plastic molds.
⚫️ Semi -forming method
In this method, to produce plastic parts, raw materials in the form of petrochemical granules are melted in an extruder and turned into a hot sheet. And before the sheet gets cold, it is pressed into the machine and shaped. In this method, only polystyrene or Heimpack materials can be used to produce disposable containers.
The thermoforming method
This method is more qualitative than the semi-forming method and this system is currently more popular in Iran for the production of plastic containers. In this method, first the granules are converted into sheets and they are rolled. Then the sheets pass through the ovens and reach the required temperature, they are prepared for molding, and then they enter the press and under the mold, the production of containers is done. One of the advantages of this method compared to the semi-forminic method is the ability to use a variety of raw materials. In the thermoforming machine, all kinds of raw materials, including polypropylene, PVC, PET and polyethylene, and even plant materials can be used to prepare different parts.
