🟩 Ghosophrend Afshar
Afshar sheep, whose birthplace is attributed to Zanjan province, although the accumulation of Afshar herds in other western provinces also indicates that this sheep lives in the mountainous regions of western Iran. Abundantly originating from the Zagros mountains, it has been a suitable place for humans and animals to live.
🟩 Release of Afshar
Il Afshar can be considered the owners of this type of sheep and the reason for naming this breed is because of this issue. Different parts of Iran in historical times have caused the spread of this type of sheep in different parts of Iran. Afshar literally means agile.
🟩 Disability of Afshar Sheep in Iran
The main centers of their residence in Iran are in Karaj and Tehran, the main distribution area of Afshari sheep is located in Zanjan province, which is more than one million head. Mah Nishan city also has the highest density of Afshari breed sheep. The population of these sheep is so large that they are not allowed to graze surplus sheep on pastures and must be kept in closed environments.
