In exhausting, a set of parts are assembled together. In the exhaust made for vehicles of many factories, most of the parts used are the same and similar. Each exhaust, in general, is responsible for several important tasks: ✔️ This system transfers polluting gases and combustion products from the engine to the outside of the car. ✔️ The use of exhaust reduces the noise produced by the vehicle. Another function of the exhaust is to reduce the temperature.

Exhaust System Function

Exhausts are responsible for transferring the smoke resulting from the chemical reactions inside the cylinders to the outside of the car's engine system and directing it to the environment. According to the strict criteria of vehicle emission standards and the energy crisis in the world and the effort to increase the output efficiency of internal combustion engines, today all car manufacturers are trying to use modern technologies and innovation to produce products with the lowest consumption. produce fuel and the least pollution.

For this purpose, the car exhaust, like other car systems, has undergone fundamental changes, which in addition to directing the combustion gases to the environment, are also responsible for other tasks, which include:

🔰 Prevention of engine thermal energy loss 🔰 Prevention of engine vibration 🔰 Reducing the temperature of exhaust gases 🔰 Reducing the sound of exhaust gases 🔰 Reduction of exhaust gas pollution

Smoke outlet manifold - exhaust cast iron (Manifold) The exhaust manifold is the duct that transports the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber to the exhaust pipe. Most manifolds are made of cast iron or stainless steel. The output manifold has one output channel for each output in the engine cylinder head, which eventually all enter one channel. The contact surface of this part with the cylinder head is made flat by machining so that it completely matches the surface of the outlet ducts of the cylinder head. Of course, a special gasket is also used to prevent any leakage. These washers are often made of copper or some kind of refractory material. It is worth mentioning that in the linear engine, the manifold is placed on the side of the engine, and in the V-shaped engine, a smoke manifold is installed on each of the cylinder heads.

Catalytic converter Catalytic converters are installed in the path of exhaust gases of gasoline engines with the aim of reducing air pollution. which cause a series of chemical reactions between polluting gases resulting from vehicle combustion. These converters have different types, the chemical reactions of each of them are different depending on the type of engine and fuel used. Catalyst for the simultaneous reduction of three types of toxic gases and air pollutants including: carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons from incomplete combustion (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOX), and turning them into non-toxic gases, water vapor (H2O), nitrogen (N2). and carbon dioxide (CO2) are used.
