Transmissions are as important as they are made up of many parts. The most important part of a gearbox is its gears, which are used in different shapes and materials depending on the type of gearbox. In the gearbox building, many gears are mounted on top of each other, and depending on the activity of each one, the amount of power and torque transmitted from the engine to the wheels is determined. Each of the gears indicates one of the gears on the gear lever (gear speed) inside the cabin.
The presence of these gears is constant in all types of gearboxes, but their type and number change. If you want to get an idea of the gears inside a transmission, imagine the different gears of a geared bicycle, which you've probably seen a lot. Other components of the car gearbox system that are less important are:
gearbox shell
This part is made of cast iron and houses the gears, gearbox bearings and axles.
Input shaft or clutch shaft
This axis, which is also known as the clutch shaft, is considered the driving axis of the gearbox. This axis is connected to a gear wheel in the input section of the gearbox shell and is connected to the car engine through a clutch.
Intermediate shaft or bottom axis
This axis is responsible for transferring the torque from the driving axis to the movable axis. A number of gears are installed on it, which are the same as the axle. The primary gear of this axis is engaged with the driving axis gear and directs the input speed produced by the engine to the output shaft in the same way without changing its amount. The gears on this shaft have different sizes.
