What is the concrete skeleton?
Concrete frame or the concrete structure is one of the common forms of the structure, which consists of connecting columns and beams. Concrete skeleton is used in the construction of many construction projects, this structure is used in stairs, columns, foundations, etc. As can be seen from the name of the concrete frame, the main material used to make it is concrete (reinforced concrete). p>
Concrete Skeleton History
Although cement has long been used as a building material by the ancient Iranians and Romanians, the history of using reinforced concrete (or reinforced concrete) dates back to 1850, which was created by Joseph Lambot of France, to build A concrete boat, however, the invention of reinforced concrete is usually attributed to the Frenchman Joseph Meunier, who in 1867 patented the invention of concrete ponds and tanks reinforced with a network of iron wire. Later, until 1881, Munir registered several cases of the use of reinforced concrete in the construction of pipes, plates and flat slabs, pedestrian bridges, arches, buildings and connecting components of railway lines. However, William Ward built the first building using reinforced concrete in 1875 in New York. After that, with the advancements in technology, the construction of concrete structures also made great progress. It should also be noted that the first concrete skeleton structure in Iran was built in Tehran.

Application of Concrete Skeleton
Concrete skeleton is widely used in the construction of urban structures due to its advantages such as lower cost and ease of construction compared to metal skeleton, some of which are as follows:
▓ Bridges , dams and retaining walls.
▓ Residential, commercial buildings, workshops and factories.
▓ Water storage structures such as underground tanks.
▓ Airplane sheds, airport runways. Construction of coastal structures such as coastal wall, watchtowers and docks.
Benefits of Concrete Skeleton:
- All components of concrete are local materials and it has an affordable price.
- Concrete has a high formability. One of the advantages of concrete compared to steel is this, because steel is produced in a factory with limited shapes and sections.
- Concrete has a high resistance to fire.
- Concrete has good resistance to fire. Concrete frame buildings need less care and protection than metal frame buildings. Concrete materials have a long service life and with the passage of time, not only the initial strength of concrete does not decrease, but it also becomes stronger.
- The implementation of concrete skeleton compared to metal skeleton, requires less specialist force. Metal requires 8000 kilowatt hours per ton of energy.
