What is turning?

Turning can be called one of the most basic machining processes in which the desired piece is shaped by a sharp tool such as a diamond. In other words, the workpiece is rotated and the desired cut is given on it using a diamond and linear movement, and finally the desired piece is made.

Turning is a process by which we can give the desired shape to all parts and hard materials such as metal and produce all kinds of parts in different shapes. All kinds of metals and hard parts are given the desired shape. The metals, which are usually in the shape of a cylinder, rotate with a certain speed and power level, and with the movement of the cutting diamonds or the cutting blades, the shaving operation is performed on them with a certain speed and accuracy that is determined in advance.
The movement of the desired piece can be in the form of a straight, cylindrical or angular and curved line.

In order to give a cylindrical shape to the part in question, it is necessary for the workpiece to rotate around itself by the lathe. During the rotation, the piece hits the cutting tool and the shavings are removed from it.
Cutting is usually done by two methods, manual and traditional, or by using automatic machines, which in the traditional method, we need a permanent operator. to continuously monitor the movement of the device. In the automatic method, which today has replaced the old and traditional methods, by using a CNC machine, a suitable program is given according to which the machine performs turning, so in this automatic machine method, there is no need for a permanent operator.
