About 250 years have passed since the creation of the world's first car to today's cars, and cars have progressed a lot, and their design and performance are getting better every day. With increasing competition in the field of designing and producing luxury, stylish and powerful cars, today we are witnessing the development of cars and the market in this field. The car has been and is one of the most important inventions since its first production until today, and even today it has become a part of people's daily life.
What year was the world's first car made?
The first car was made in a very simple way, just like the first motorcycle in the world, and after the passage of time and significant improvements in the automobile industry, today's cars are no longer similar to the first cars and have become much more advanced. The machine was invented in the 18th century in 1770 by Nicolas Cognot, and this machine is known as the oldest machine in the world. The water tank was installed in the front part of the car and it was powered by steam from boiling water. The main purpose of building this car was to transport firecrackers of the French army, which could not meet this demand due to the lack of efficiency. One of the defects of this vehicle was that it could only move 5 kilometers per hour, and despite this low speed, it was necessary to stop several times per hour for repairs and adjustments.
The first petrol engine car, Carl Benz
Years passed and in the 19th century German engineering built a car with an internal combustion engine fueled by gasoline. This car, which was built by Karl Benz in 1885-1886, created a revolution in the transportation industry. Until then, horse-drawn carriages carried people for relatively long distances, but with the invention of the machine, the carriages lost their place.
The first car with the front gasoline engine
Ever since the first car was built in 1885, engineers have tried to create cars with a variety of designs. They tried different car designs with rear, mid or front engine. Finally, they came to the conclusion that if the engine and differential are at the front of the car at the same time, the power of the car will be higher and its fuel consumption will be lower. This problem was discovered by Panhard Levasseur in 1891 and he built a car that became the model for later cars. In this car, the engine was located in front of the car and under the hood. In addition, the gearbox worked with a foot clutch, the water in the radiator cooled the engine, and the rear differential of the car was located. Today, this shape and structure is still used for the production of cars, but we and the expectations of the car are very different from that time and, in other words, cannot be compared.

Mass production of the Ford 1908 car
Until 1908, every car that was made was handmade and made in limited numbers, as a result of which the cost price was very high and they were produced only for specific uses and purposes, and naturally, cars were only available to a certain group of people in the society. belonged But in 1908, the Ford automobile company was able to mass produce a car and put it on the market. The car was no longer an expensive product and only in the hands of a limited number of people, but its price decreased and it became more popular among people. Henry Ford introduced this car in 1908 and put it on the market in 1909 and sold about 10,000 of it in the first year.
But Ford decided to sell more of this car. Therefore, he tried to prove to the general public that the use of cars is possible and useful for the mass of people. Ford's success came when, inspired by a butcher shop, he realized that he could invent a production line where each worker would work specifically on a part of the car assembly, thus reducing the cost of training workers, increasing efficiency and speed of operation, and Finally, the development process will increase. Ford's prediction about the assembly line paid off in practice, and from then until 1916, the Model T was priced at $360, and half a million cars of this model were produced annually. This production process was both for the benefit of the consumer and a suitable method for car manufacturing companies
The most important points in car design
Nowadays, many engineers are in contact with different companies in the world to check and research about cars, in the field of car quality. Also, in international car exhibitions, car manufacturing companies expose the latest examples of new designs to the public, which are evaluated and tested by experts, and in this way they can produce the next generation of cars. The first and most important issue for car designers is to design a car that provides enough and necessary space for the passengers.
For this purpose, they use various methods to evaluate the interior of the car. For example, by using a human body model, they simulate different sitting angles. Another important point in car design is to determine the purpose of building the desired car and consider the appropriate structure and parts accordingly. For example, is the car designed for sports competitions or for personal use. In the same way, according to the specific purpose and need, the interior space, the shape of the seats, the front hood and the trunk, the fuel tank, the glasses, the model of the bumpers, etc. are designed.
