Polymeric pipes are among the most practical pipes that have replaced many metal, plastic, cement, etc. pipes today. Polyethylene pipe is one of the polymer pipes that have many industrial and non-industrial applications due to their characteristics and specifications. One of the most obvious characteristics of polyethylene pipes is their color.

Color of Polyethylene Raw Materials

In fact, the primary materials of polyethylene, which include items such as polyethylene PE80, PE100 and PE63, are colorless, and even when cooked, their color does not change, and to change their color in different products, various additives are used such as carbon black, masterbatch and ... is used. Of course, adding different additives to polyethylene raw materials should be based on standard calculations and formulations so that there are no unreasonable changes in the chemical and physical properties of the final product. Despite the progress of many technologies, today in more than 99% of polyethylene pipe factories around the world, the distribution of raw materials and carbon black is done manually and they are not very accurate.

The reason for the black pipes

As mentioned, polyethylene raw materials are colorless and various additives are used for them during annealing and in the production line. By adding masterbatch to the raw materials, the color of the produced pipes becomes black, which is used more than all other colors today. In fact, the reason for the black color of these pipes is their high resistance to sunlight. Basically, the black color used in polyethylene pipes causes the heat to be stored in the pipe and eventually the pipe becomes hot and expands. Of course, the absorption of heat in the pipes increases the possibility of permanent bending and deformation, and you must be very careful in their storage and transportation.

different colors of polyethylene tube

Yellow polyethylene pipes

Polyethylene pipes with a yellow band are actually gaseous polyethylene pipes and can have special characteristics in terms of pressure tolerance, thickness, etc. . There are also polyethylene pipes that are completely yellow and are usually used for fuel gases, process gases, liquid gases under pressure and liquid gases.

Polyethylene pipes with blue color

These pipes, which are very common, are actually for water supply lines for drinking water. These tubes are produced in black color with a blue stripe. Although many people think that PVC pipes have better performance in drinking water pipelines, in fact, polyethylene pipes have better features and capabilities and have a longer lifespan, and installing polyethylene pipes is easier than other types of pipes. >
Polyethylene pipes with red band

These pipes, which are obsolete today, are mostly used in water supply systems for fire extinguishing and are used in piping systems of firefighting organizations.< /p>

Polyethylene pipes with cream-colored strips

Polyethylene pipes with cream-colored strips are mostly used in sewage piping systems and can have different types in terms of pressure tolerance.
