What is a water purifier?
You can survive without food for several weeks because your body uses stored fat and protein for energy. But you won't survive more than a few days without water. In fact, water means life for us. About two-thirds of our body is water, and we need to consume a lot of water every day. Therefore, it is necessary for us to have healthy drinking water free from any pollution.
Considering our body's need for healthy drinking water, it is necessary to control and check the water we consume, and for its health as much as possible, it is necessary to treat water purification at the consumption stage. Today, various types of water purifiers with high efficiency and diversity have come to the market. Each different type of water purifier removes different types of pollution from water according to the way it works.

What is a water purifier and how does it work?
Water, due to its unusual molecular structure, surprisingly dissolves many substances. As you know, water is constantly circulating in nature, and this process is known as the water cycle. In all these stages, pollution enters the water, a large part of which is removed by the urban water purification system. But some of them remain until the last stage or are added to the water along the way for various reasons, including the old piping system. Therefore, to remove this type of pollution, you must remove them from your drinking water using a water purifier.
Using its own filters, the water purifier removes various contaminants such as lead in water, microbes, sediment, various pathogens, chlorine, and excess minerals, and by removing a high percentage of these contaminants, it makes our drinking water odorless. and taste better.
Usually, most models of household water purifiers have the ability to purify water in 4, 5 and 6 stages, in which a part of pollution and impurities are removed in each stage. In the end, after passing the water through the water purifier, you can be sure that more than 90% of the pollution has been removed and you have the healthy water that is essential for your body.
Different filters of the water purifier use two different techniques to relieve contamination:
Physical filtration: means applying pressure to water to remove large impurities.
Chemical filtration: In this method, water is passed through a chemically active substance to remove pollutants.

Active carbon filter
Membrane reverse osmosis filter
As mentioned, there are different types of filters that water purifiers use. Each of these filters removes part of the pollution from the water in a specific way. Most of these home water purifiers use two or three different filters for water purification. Therefore, to have healthy water, it is recommended to choose a water purifier that purifies water in several stages using different filters.
The most common household water filters use activated carbon granules, known as activated carbon or AC. The structure of these types of filters is based on the placement of a type of charcoal in it, which removes many impurities from the water. But after some time, impurities accumulate in this type of filter, which means that the filter must be replaced, and this has caused its use to result in significant and continuous costs.
Another type of water purifier filter is the reverse osmosis filter, in this type of water passes through the filter through pressure and the chemicals in the water are separated from the water by the filter. This type of filter has a good performance and basically the water purifier that has this type of filter is very reliable and useful.
Ion exchange filters are especially good at softening water (removing limescale). They are designed to separate atoms from a pollutant to create ions. They then trap these ions in a process and release some different, less disturbing ones instead. In other words, they exchange bad ions with good ones. Hard water contains magnesium and calcium compounds, and when we pass it through an ion exchange filter, these compounds are split into magnesium and calcium ions.
Magnesium and calcium ion filter beads are more attractive than sodium, so they take up magnesium and calcium ions and release and replace their sodium ions. Without magnesium and calcium ions, water tastes better. However, sodium is another type of contaminant, and you cannot describe the end product of ion purification as pure water.
As mentioned, by using a water purifier other than water purification and having healthy water, you can also improve the smell and taste of water. Be sure of the health of your drinking water by choosing a suitable home water purifier that, in addition to having a multi-stage filtration system, is also suitable for the regional water where you live.
