The three sides of the elevator shaft must be separated from the surrounding environment by means of parts or separating walls. The inner surface of these separators should also be properly coated and smoothed. Partition walls run from the finished floor of the first stop to the engine compartment on the roof. The inner surface of the walls of the elevator well should be covered with suitable materials in such a way that they have the least voids. If plaster is used, these surfaces should be covered with a suitable color. Smooth cement sand coating does not need to be painted. The lighting of the elevator shaft should also be suitable.
