What is Fiber Cement?

Fiber cement is a new type of material that is made of cement, fibers and silica, and sometimes silica, lime and other additives are used to increase its mechanical and chemical resistance. All fiber cement components are baked and solidified in an autoclave oven. As mentioned in the introduction, other names such as cement board, cement panel, and cement sheet are also used for fiber cement. At one time, asbestos was used instead of fibers in the structure of fiber cement, but after some time, due to the carcinogenicity of asbestos, different fibers (cellulosic, polymer, metal) were replaced.
