What is a more dusty or dusty scrubber?
Scrubbers are dust collectors that use liquids to trap pollutants and are known as wet scrubbers or dust collectors. The way these systems work is that the cleaning liquid or The air purifier (usually water) collides with the air stream containing dust and pollutant particles and cleans the air stream by absorbing the pollutant. The greater the amount of contact between gas and cleaning liquid, the higher the efficiency of the system.
Wet scrubbers have different types, but the structure of all of them consists of three basic parts, which are below We refer to them:
🔰 Humidification of gas
🔰 Connection of liquid with gas
🔰 Separation of liquid from gas
Benefits of Scrubber
🔰 economically viable
🔰 simultaneous separation of particles and gases from the air
🔰 ability of combustible particles and gases
🔰 ability to cool the air outlet flow

Application of Scrubber
Industrial air has pollutants that must be removed for environmental reasons. Also, many chemical pollutants are economically important and can be used as raw materials for the production of other items. Therefore, the use of scrubbers to separate pollutants from industrial gases is very important.
Types of Scrubber
✅ Wet scrubber with low energy consumption
This category of scrubbers are usually mist tower type, vertically or horizontally. In this sample of scrubbers, first the water droplets are atomized by pressurized nozzles and perform the cleaning operation in reverse to the incoming air, and then the contaminated water is collected at the end of the scrubber. Using these devices, relatively large amounts of dust can be separated without blocking. These scrubbers have a pressure drop of 1-2 inwg and their efficiency for separating 10 micron particles is 90%.
✅ Wet scrubber with low to medium energy consumption
Among the types of these scrubbers, we can mention silicone ones. In wet silicones, centrifugal force is used to rotate the particles. The way these devices work is that first the particles hit the wet walls of the refinery and then the water entering from above washes these particles away. The pressure drop of these devices is 8-2 inwg. These scrubbers are efficient enough to collect particles with a diameter of 5 microns.

✅ Wet scrubber with medium to high energy consumption
This category of scrubbers includes packed bed scrubbers that have a bed of solid elements such as rings, saddles and so on. In these scrubbers, the filled bed breaks the flow of water and causes the incoming air or gas flow to have maximum contact with the liquid, and in this way the particles settle on the surface of the filled elements. It should be noted that these devices have good efficiency for collecting respirable particles. Some types of these scrubbers are: scrubber with parallel flow and scrubber with opposite flow. >
✅ Wet scrubber with high energy consumption
Venturi scrubbers can be mentioned among the scrubbers of this category. Venturi scrubbers consist of a converging inlet and a separator. Venturi scrubbers work in such a way that dusty air enters from the venturi and then by increasing its speed in the throat up to 12000-36000 ft/min and due to severe turbulence (disturbed flow), it collides with droplets. The atomized water spray continues in the divergent part of the venturi. In the next step, the large masses formed in the venturi are removed by an inertial separator. In the end, we point out that the efficiency of these scrubbers for respirable particles is very high.
