Types and applications of scaffolding
Now that you understand what scaffolding is, let's talk about its types and uses. Scaffolds are divided into two types, wooden and metal. Wooden scaffolding is made of special ladders and round sticks. These types of scaffolding are usually fixed. In general, in the construction of wooden scaffolding, boards, vaults and temporary bridges are used. Also, the structure of metal scaffolding will be different according to the type of use. In general, there are 8 types of metal scaffolding, which are

Normal metal scaffolding
Normal scaffolding is the most widely used in the Iranian market and construction industry and is usually used for building facades. This type of scaffolding is also known as brick layer scaffolding. Single scaffolding is made of different parts. These parts include standards, header, ledger and other parts. This type of scaffolding is usually placed at a distance of 1.2 meters from the wall. The structure of single scaffolding is such that the standards of the scaffolding are 2 to 2.5 meters apart. Ledgers connect the standards at a height of 1.5 meters.
Double scaffolding
Double scaffolding is mostly used in masonry. Two rows of scaffolding are made in order for the clamps to be fixed by making holes in the stone walls. The first row is placed at a distance of 30 cm from the wall. The distance of the second row from the first row is one meter. To strengthen the scaffolding, sandblasters and cross braces are used. This type of scaffolding is called independent scaffolding.
Cantilever Scaffolding
In cantilever scaffolding, also called gantry scaffolding, the standards are supported by a series of needles that are embedded in the wall. Another type of gantry scaffolding is by means of pins that are fixed in the gaps created in the wall. One thing you should know is that caution should be used to implement cantilever scaffolding. It should also be ensured that the installation of the needles is done with high quality
Steel Scaffolding
If you have reached the answer to the question of what scaffolding is, you will be familiar with steel scaffolding. Steel scaffolding is made of steel pipes and these steel pipes are connected by steel joints. It is very easy to make these types of scaffolding and assemble them. Steel scaffolding has high strength. Also, they have high resistance and durability against events such as fire. These types of scaffolding are not economical in terms of price, but they are very safe and secure. For this reason, steel scaffolding is used in most cases.
Standing scaffolding
In standing scaffolding, the work platform is placed on three legs or a movable ladder. Scaffolding is mostly used for indoor works. Among these works, we can mention interior painting and interior repairs. The important point in using scaffolding with bases is that scaffolding is usually used up to a height of 5 meters.
Hanging Scaffolding
Hanging scaffolding is made by towing wire or devices like chain and hangs from the roof of the building. Its height can be changed according to the required level. This type of scaffolding is usually used to construct the facade of buildings. Also, suspended scaffolds are used in building facade repairs and painting.
truss scaffolding
The structure of truss scaffolding is such that a flat and smooth plate is placed on triangular bases. The reason why truss scaffolding is built in this way is so that the worker can easily stand on it. Also, it can easily paint surfaces that are not too high, such as the wall or ceiling of the house.
