This energy is also transferred to the engine axis or the crankshaft, and the movement of the crankshaft creates a combustion cycle in the engine and finally starts the engine. The starter is usually located behind and next to the car engine.

Now the point is that today's engines must reach at least 100 rpm to start working. In this condition, the engines can continue to operate automatically. When the switch is turned in the car cabin, electricity reaches the starter system and causes it to move. After that, the starting system will bring the engine to 100 rpm and start the car. It may seem that the starter is a simple electric motor. However, if this seemingly simple system does not work properly or fails, the car will not be able to move.

Types of car starters

▪️Spiral gear starter: In this type of starter, the automatic is installed separately from the starter. When the electric current triggers the automatic switch, a small current is transferred to the starter motor and causes it to rotate.

Its first task is to send the main electric current of the battery to the starter motor and the second task is to move the starter gear to engage with the flywheel gear. : Sliding armature starter is another type of car starter designed for buses and heavy vehicles such as trucks. This starter includes a coil, helper and two pieces of pulling coil.

For this reason, the gearbox starter is used for engines with high volume or engines with a large number of cylinders.
