How to make polyethylene tanks
Polyethylene tanks are produced by rotational molding process. At the beginning of the production process, polymer powder materials are combined with UV protective materials and poured into a two-piece mold. The percentage of UV protective substances used in this mixture depends on the final use of the produced tank. When the mold is closed, the mold is heated in a hot furnace with a suitable temperature. During the heating process, the mold rotates 360 degrees in two directions. These movements make the resulting mixture sit on all parts of the mold as the compound melts. After the process is completed, the mold is transferred to a cooling room where the temperature is slowly reduced and the tank is removed from the mold as the temperature decreases.
Polyethylene reservoir capability
Polyethylene tanks are made of HDPE and MDPE polymers, which are resistant to most substances such as pesticides and chemicals. However, polyethylene tanks should not be used to store fuels such as gasoline, as these materials can make the plastic loose and brittle. Only certain types of polyethylene can be suitable for this task, whose raw material is either not available in Iran, or the finished price of the product is much more expensive than metal tanks. For this reason, we recommend using a variety of standard and protected metal tanks for long-term storage of fuel according to the standards of the oil company.
