Due to its flexibility, remarkable durability, cheap price and other valuable advantages, many companies use it to package their products. Shrink film is a versatile polymer material that is actually used for final packaging. Heat is applied to the film by methods such as a heat tunnel, conveyor belt, electric or gas heat gun, and sometimes manually, etc., and the film tightens very quickly around the goods inside. This process creates a clear and durable barrier, protector and retainer around the products. Shirink's behavior can also be investigated from a molecular point of view. The molecules of a sheet or sheet of shearing tube are randomly intertwined and connected without any particular order. When the film is heated, the unstructured parts of its chains become smooth and aligned. That is, the molecules move out of their initial random pattern to eventually match the goods inside them. So until enough thermal energy is applied to the molecular chains and the film shrinks, the coil remains in its initial state. 1- Siring force
This force (pressure) is usually measured in psi and is the amount of force that the film exerts on the product after shrinking. If you are packing products that need to be tightly sealed and not damaged, understanding this force will be useful. Especially when adjusting the shirinq device, it is better to make the adjustment based on that. It doesn't matter if the force is high, or the packaging is done for products like wood. It is important to pay attention to this force when packing protein products, vegetables, fruits, etc. In general, polyolefin films have more contraction force. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films have a low shrinkage force. However, the new polyolefin formulations provide a lower amount of shrinking force.
2- For hearing
This special feature describes in which direction the molecules of the film are placed after cooling. There are two types of shrink film direction: preferentially and bi-axially. The film is placed bi-axially in both directions of the machine and the product equally. But films with preferential direction shrink preferentially in any direction. This model causes less use of film and prevents changes in the product.
3- Free collection capability
In addition to changing the roll percentage using preferred orientation film, you can reduce the roll amount and stay with a bi-axial film. Another related feature is Free shrink. This feature refers to the ability of a film to shrink before contact with the product. The high level of Free shrink allows us to have a better looking package in difficult shapes and sizes.
4- Hole resistance and rupture
This feature tells us how likely the film is to puncture and how resistant it is to tearing when it does. Most films with high puncture resistance have lower tear resistance and vice versa. Deciding which one of these two features is important to us depends on the type of product. Be sure to store the shirinq in a cool environment before use (not too cool is suitable) to prevent it from weakening before use.
5- MVTR (moisture vapor transfer rate)
This characteristic is a measure of how much moisture will or will not pass through the film. This feature should be considered to improve the useful life. For food products, this feature is more important.
6. Anti-fog (anti-fog)
Films with this feature are used in the fresh and frozen food packaging industry to reduce moisture on the film. Moisture can cause fog (steam) that affects the appearance and visibility of the product under the film. Films with this feature are created by adding other materials to the film structure during production.
7. Board obstacle (Odor Barrier)
Films with this feature are used to prevent unpleasant odors from entering or exiting the package. The importance of this feature increases, especially for food or packaging of goods that are kept in environments with different smells and chemicals. For example, if the film does not have this feature, food and protein material will be practically unusable.
