What is the rebar?
Rebar or reinforcement is a long and solid cylindrical steel section. This steel section is usually made of medium carbon steel and its main use is to reinforce concrete in building construction. In terms of shape and material, rebar is known as one of the most diverse steel sections. It also has high sales due to its wide applications.
The types of bars based on sex
Rebar is divided into the following groups based on its type:
Ordinary steel rebar
Steel rebar is used from different types of steel. Rebar made of ordinary steel or St37 is mostly used in building construction and is produced in two ways: simple and ribbed.
Stainless steel
Rebar made of stainless steel has the same application as steel rebar. with the difference that it is mostly used in areas where there is a high possibility of rusting due to weather conditions.
Galvanized rebar
This type of rebar is the same as ordinary steel rebar on which a layer of zinc metal is placed to make it anti-rust. Its use is similar to the use of ordinary rebar. In Iran, no factory produces galvanized rebar, and some industrial workshops galvanize ordinary rebar at the customer's order.

Epoxy rebar
Epoxy rebar is the same as ordinary rebar with epoxy coating. Its application and properties are similar to steel rebar; But depending on the thickness of the epoxy layer, its anti-rust property is 70 to 1700 times more. This rebar is hard to find in the iron and steel market of our country.
trans rebar
Trans rebar is made of special steel alloys that have higher resistance than St37 alloy. Also, the production method of this type of rebar is different and after the hot rolling process, tension is applied on it. For this reason, it is also called tensile rebar. Trans rebar is simply produced and has mostly decorative and industrial applications.
Fiberglass rebar
This type of rebar is made of a composite composition with a high percentage of carbon fiber. Due to the non-use of metal, this type of rebar is highly resistant to corrosion, and in addition, other harmful compounds such as sulfates and chlorides do not affect it. The biggest disadvantage of fiberglass rebar is the lack of sufficient resistance against earthquakes.
