What is a military uniform?
Combat uniform, also called field uniform, military uniform or combat uniform, is a common uniform worn by the military, police, fire department, and other general uniformed services. Used for everyday field work and combat purposes, as opposed to clothing worn in ceremonies and parades. It generally consists of a jacket, trousers and a shirt or t-shirt, all of which are looser and more comfortable than more formal uniforms. Its design may depend on the regiment or branch of service, eg Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, etc. In the military branches, the cloth is in camouflage colors, a confusing pattern, or solid green, brown, or khaki, to approximate the background. And it makes the soldier less visible in nature. In western dress codes, the field uniform is considered equivalent to civilian clothing of civilian citizens. As such, field uniforms are considered less formal than service dress uniforms, which are generally intended for office or staff use, as well as casual dress uniforms and full dress uniforms.
