What is the difference between lacquer and bakelite screws?
Lacquered screw and Bakelite screw are very similar in terms of appearance and application, but they are different from each other in terms of material and technical characteristics. The lacquered screw is usually made of a metal body with a lacquer coating and has an industrial appearance and good resistance. On the other hand, Bakelite is a kind of hard and thermoset plastic that is used in making handles and insulating parts.
Lacquered screw:
Due to its metal structure, it is a good choice for applications that require more strength and pressure tolerance. Lacquer coating also improves the appearance of the piece and protects the metal surface.
Bakelite screw:
Lighter weight, insulation against electric current and different appearance are its important features. This model is mostly used in electrical equipment, devices, boards and applications where insulation is important.
In choosing between these two models, one should pay attention to the type of application, the amount of pressure, environmental conditions and the need for electrical insulation. If mechanical strength is the main priority, the lacquered model can be a more appropriate choice; But in the applications of insulation and electrical equipment, bakelite has more advantages.
