Welding is one of the common and practical methods that is used to connect metals and plastic materials and it has different types. One of the main and widely used methods of welding is fusion welding, which is performed by the heat of the melting process and the connection is made after cooling. One of these important and practical methods used in various industries is electric welding. In fact, electric welding is one of the types of fusion welding that creates the process of welding and connection by means of heat created by electricity.
جوشکاری برق چیست؟
Electric welding is actually a type of welding process that is created by melting the joining metals. In this method of welding by heat and pressure and sometimes by both, this process and cycle is complete. In fact, it can be said that electric welding is a fusion welding method in which electricity plays an important role, and because it occurs by electric current, heat and then melting, we call this welding electric welding.
In this method of welding, a filling material called filler is used, but sometimes we do electric welding without this material. This type of welding has different types by which we perform welding operations, and each of these types has diverse and wide applications in industries.
Application of Welding
Electric welding is one of the methods by which welding works are performed in various industries. Electric welding can be used in large and small jobs to connect metals, and considering that the work in this method is done with the help of heat and by electricity, you can have the right amount of heat for welding operations. Electric welding is used in important industries, which we mention below.

Types of Power Welding
Types of electric welding include processes in which a permanent bond is created between different metal parts. In electric welding, the melt is cooled rapidly and two metals are permanently connected. For sheet metal parts, types of electric welding include spot welding and linear welding. Spot welding is mainly suitable for connecting parts that are up to 3 mm thick.
How to do all kinds of welding
In using different types of electric welding, we must have full knowledge of the dynamo components used in electric welding. This dynamo works automatically. Sometimes it is necessary to lubricate the dynamo in order to perform electric welding correctly and smoothly. With this, even inexperienced people can do all kinds of electric welding with it. Also, in all types of electric welding, the amount of heat required to melt the metal under welding is also important.
Types of electric welding are used to connect similar parts. However, types of electric welding can be used for dissimilar parts as well, provided that they have close melting points. In all types of electric welding, the electric current passes through the parts and causes them to heat up. Then, by local melting of the part where the two pieces collided, two different pieces are welded to each other.
Types of Power Welding Models
Types of Power Welding by MIG method
MIG welding or metal arc welding is a type of electric welding that is mostly used for steel welding. In the MIG welding method, the process of melting the filler is done in order to perform welding. This process is relatively clean and there is little splashing in it. Welders can perform the welding process without interruption and for long periods of time, which is the reason for the low number of start and end times. The protective gas used in this process is argon and a combination of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The only disadvantage of this process is perhaps the difficulty of forming the arc during the entire process.
Types of Power Welding by TIG method
TIG welding or tungsten arc welding is also a type of electric welding that is mostly used for welding magnesium, aluminum, titanium, nickel and copper alloys. The use of filler in TIG welding method is not mandatory and can be done with or without filler. TIG welding diameter is smaller than MIG welding diameter. Because in this method, the heat is more concentrated at the welding point. This welding method is also very clean and its spatter is very low. But compared to the MIG welding method, it takes longer. In this method, shielding gases helium, hydrogen and their combination with argon are used.
A variety of sticker welding
Manual electrode welding is another type of electric welding, which is also called shielded metal arc welding. It is difficult to do stick welding and therefore it is recommended that professionals do it. This welding method is used in processes such as building bridges, artistic metal structures, piping and other outdoor welding projects. During outdoor welding, it should be noted that this type of welding is different from indoor welding. Because outdoor welding must be able to be done under wind and rain and windy weather. Therefore, special processes must be used in outdoor welding. Stick welding is the most versatile welding process and does not require complex settings compared to other welding processes.
