Spiral pipe production is one of the world's standard seam pipe production methods, where the pipe weld seam is in the form of a spiral. In this method, steel pipes are produced from roll sheets in different thicknesses and diameters.

Technical specifications of spiral pipes, DIN2440, DIN2394, BS1387, API5L standards are used for the production of these pipes. Also, the Iranian national quality standard certificate No. ISIRI3574 is also for these pipes. It has provided standards in the field of design and construction of water transmission systems. The steel pipes that are made according to the AWWA C200 standard are slightly different in terms of geometrical dimensions, but they are similar to API and ASTM A3 pipes in terms of materials.
Also, these pipes can be produced from other materials such as ASTM A36, ASTM 4570 and ASTM A139. The pipes that are made according to this standard can be produced both in the form of straight (linear) and spiral (spiral) seams. Pipes with under-powder welding and direct induction from size 10 inches to 18 inches with a thickness of 4 to 10 mils are used in water supply and industrial applications. These pipes are usually made of St33 and St37 are produced in the form of simple double-sided and double-ribbed seams.
Single -Step Spiral Tube
In this pipe, the sheets are first prepared, then the covers are welded to each other. To weld the spiral seam, first the inner seam and then the outer seam will be welded by the powder welding machine. After welding, the pipe seam will be cut and will go to the next steps. The speed of production in this method is determined based on the speed of sub-powder welding.

In a single-stage spiral, after forming the sheet and on the forming machine, first the inner seam and then the outer seam of the pipe are welded with sub-powder welding, and finally the pipe is cut to the desired dimensions.
Two -Step Spiral Tube
The difference between this method and the previous method is that it is welded by shielded gas arc welding (GMAW). In the next steps, the seam is welded from the inside and outside by sub-powder welding.
Spiral Tube Specifications
Spiral pipes are manufactured according to AWWA standard 200 for water pipes and API 51 standard or IPS MP1190 or PLD III for oil and gas industries. These pipes are produced in lengths of 6 to 12 meters. In Iran, spiral pipes are used from the size of 16 inches and up, and are usually 12 meters long.
